Our Design Philosophy

At Inglenook, we restore, revive, and reimagine.

We’re stewards of spaces inspired by time with the knowledge that every home and homeowner is one of a kind.

Michael Moreland

Founder & Principal Designer

Michael loves design.

When approaching a new project, he starts by considering the style, intention, and function of a home—every room, doorway, and nook. If done right, Michael believes good design should feel almost invisible, effortless, and lasting.

He understands that design is uniquely personal and requires thoughtful listening and interpretation. He also knows that design is fluid and versatile, something he learned while earning his Master’s from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Most of all, Michael wishes to be useful, to help people imagine and create spaces that invite, inspire, and feel like home.

Consulting & Design

We approach design as a collaborative, story-driven process. Our consulting services begin by listening intently to our clients and to the home itself. Whether rethinking a single room or reimagining an entire house, we offer tailored guidance rooted in careful consideration.

From sourcing to installing, we’re here to make every proposal possible through our curated network of vendors, retailers, and distributors.

Restoration & Renovation

Restoration lets us bring a home’s rich history forward—retaining what’s authentic and mending what’s worn. Renovation, on the other hand, invites more imagination—improving function and adapting spaces for modern life. While some projects may be one or the other, most are a unique combination of both.

We thrive at this intersection, where stewardship meets sensibility, with the tradespeople, craftspeople, and experience to make it all happen.

New Construction

Even in new builds, we seek to create a sense of story and permanence. From hearths to hinges, every design choice is an opportunity to make a new space feel more like a familiar home.

We work hand-in-hand with architects and builders throughout each phase of design and construction. From the first blueprint to the final coat of paint, our goal is to ensure every aspect feels refined, intentional, and enduring.
